In 2007, Washington Area Women’s Soccer League (WAWSL) held a contest for a new league logo. Submissions were anonymous and the final chosen by a Board of Directors vote. This logo won unanimously out of more than 50 submissions.
After incorporation with District Sports in 2019, Washington Area Women’s Soccer League has retained its own identity with abbreviated versions of the logo — each provided as part of the original logo set — that are still being used today.
