In 2013, Food & Water Watch was ramping up its campaign to ban fracking at the state level in New York. As part of the effort, a non-profit coalition of environmental groups ran a full-page ad in the politically important state of Iowa’s Des Moines Register urging New York Governor Andrew Cuomo not to approve fracking regulations in the state.
I was responsible for concept, layout and production of the advertisement, which received coverage in Politico describing the design as “WWIII-style,” calling to mind the minimalist propaganda posters of the 1940s.
